It's difficult to find a sense of peace. Isn't that all anybody wants? In a cosmopolitan world bombarded by information and ugly gray streets, where do we find that peace? Do we bow down to the forces that be, or do we search? This collection of short stories and poetry is my search for peace and purification. It is not all pretty because nothing is ever all pretty. It's important to reflect and understand the good and bad and try to correct what you can. Such an essential idea should be understood on a greater scale, and nuance must return to popular thought. My experiences growing up on the Southside of Chicago and traveling in France were great inspirations for this work. The contrast between the two is remarkable, and the hope is to find peace in both.
For Februus In Hiding consists of several short stories and poems that will trigger feelings of thoughtfulness and reflection. A fast paced and dynamic read, the stories utilize direct sentences and vivid imagery to depict interpersonal relationships and relationships with nature. The poems are freely written and gambol with multifaceted yet succinct verbiage. Analyze these complex worlds we live in, both internal and external, and find Februus.
